As the end of the semester is approaching, RHA has two awesome programs coming up that will help relieve your stress.
On Thursday, December 9 from 9 pm to 12 am, RHA will be partnering with SAC to bring on another awesome Texas Hold'Em tournament. Come out and get entered for a chance to win the new XBOX Kinect.
On Saturday, December 11 from 8:30 to 10:30 am, RHA will be hosting a Finals Breakfast in Blair-Shannon Grand Lounge. This give residents an opportunity to get breakfast in between the hours that the dining centers will be open. We will have juice, milk, bagels, and so much more!

Last Meeting of the Semester!
Next Monday is the last meeting of this semester! It's going to be an extremely fun meeting with a Hawaiian luau theme. Also, remember to bring your dubloons that you have earned throughout the semester for the fun auction. We will have some awesome things up to bid like DVDs, sports equipment, board games, and so much more! So, come out and enjoy our last GA meeting for the semester.

Apply for NCC-IT!
It's that time of year again, when RHA elects their next National Communications Coordinator-In Training or NCC-IT. This person will shadow the current NCC, Kenny Harding, over the Spring 2011 semester and learn what the position of NCC will entail. If you are interested, you can download the application here, fill out it and turn it into the Hutchens Front Desk by Monday, November 23rd at 5:00 PM. Applicants will also prepare a 3 minute presentation about why they should be the next NCC on the November 29th GA meeting. Good luck!

NRHH Applications Are Out!
The National Residence Hall Honorary or NRHH is looking for new members to apply this fall. This organization, which is only for the top 1% of student leaders living in the residence halls, is based on four pillars: Leadership, Recognition, Scholarship, and Service. Potential new members need to have lived on campus for two semesters and get two references from people who are involved in Residence Life and Services. The application and the two reference forms need to be turned into the Hutchens Front Desk by November 8, 2010 by 11:59 pm. If you are interested, here is the application and the reference form. Halloween Hoedown
On Thursday, October 28 at 7 pm, RHA will be hosting a Halloween Hoedown in the Blair-Shannon Grand Lounge. There will be plenty of western and barnyard themed activities that include square dancing, making your very own stick pony, and a costume contest. If you attend, there will be plenty of awesome prizes like a portable DVD player, DVDs, Missouri State gear, and so much more! So, put your best cowboy getup and come out to the Halloween Hoedown!

Halloween in the Halls
The Residence Hall Association will be sponsoring a safe indoor Halloween experience for the children and grandchildren (ages 2 to 12) of all Missouri State faculty, staff, and students called Halloween in the Halls. This will take place on Wednesday, October 27. Tours will start at 5:15 pm in the Blair-Shannon Grand Lounge and will end at 7:30 pm. The Pumpkin Patch, in the Blair-Shannon Grand Lounge will include check-in, games, and refreshments. All floors will be non-scary. Residents of our buildings will be trained to be tour guides known as Pumpkin Pals and will escort the children through the residence halls.

Pop Tab Wars
Pop Tab Wars has started. From September 20 to October 25, all the residence halls will be competing in an intense competition to see which residence hall can collect the most pop tabs. All the residence halls will have a little cardboard house at the front desk that you can put them in. These pop tabs are going to go to a good cause-the local Ronald McDonald House. The top three residence halls will win money for their Hall Councils. So, get collecting!

MACURH 2010- Come On Down!
The MACURH 2010 Conference is fast approaching and Missouri State is looking for some awesome delegates to represent us. You might be asking, "What is MACURH?". MACURH stands for the Midwest Affliate of College and University Residence Halls. This conference plans to bring 500 outstanding student leaders from 7 Midwestern states and 1 Canadian province that live in the residence halls together to discuss programs and policy incentives, meet other likeminded leaders, and bring back awesome ideas to their campus. This conference will be held from November 5-7, 2010 right here at Missouri State. If you are interested or you know someone who might be interested, download the application right here, fill it out and return it to Kenny Harding or Angela Strider at the Hutchens House Front Desk by Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at midnight.

RHA Barbecue
If anyone is in the mood for barbecue, RHA has the event for you. Wednesday, August 25 will be the date for the RHA Barbecue. From 4:30-7:00 in the Blair-Shannon Dining Center, you can get some great barbecue for your dinner. While you are there, you can also meet some of the RHA Exec Board members and learn more about RHA. So come out, get some food, and learn some more about RHA.

Casino Night
RHA will be holding a Casino Night Wednesday May 5 starting at 7 PM in the PSU Ballroom. Attendees will be able to participate in several different games such as blackjack, craps, and bingo. If you are unfamiliar to any games, there will be people around to help you out. There will be some awesome prizes awarded to those who have won the most (fake) money such as an iPod Shuffle, a Netbook, DVDs, and much, much, more! This is going to be a fun and free night for all, so come out and press your luck!

Spring Awards Ceremony
Believe it or not, the end of the academic year is just around the corner. With this brings the RHA Spring Awards Ceremony! On May 2, 2010, RAs, RHA, RPAs, UCRA, Hall Councils, and outstanding individuals will be recognized in various categories. Following the Spring Awards Ceremony will be the NRHH Induction Ceremony for Spring 2010. More details will be on the way, so keep a look out!

Project Greenway
On Monday, March 29, 2010, Project Greenway will take place. Project Greenway is a sustainable version of "Project Runway" where contestants will design an original outfit out of completely recyclable materials. Prizes will be awarded in three categories (Resident Assistant, Hall Council, and Residents) for first, second, and third place. You can sign up at either your front desk or contacting Todd Euglow, Programming Communications Coordinator at todd05@live.missouristate.edu. When you sign up, you will receive more information about the event. But, you better hurry because the deadline is Monday, March 22! Go, get out your eye for fashion and make an one of kind outfit that promotes sustainability!
Executive Board Elections
March has just started which means the semester is almost halfway over. As this academic year comes to a close, you might be wondering what to do for next year. A great plan would be try for RHA Executive Board. The elections will be coming in April, so get excited! It is a lot of hard work but you do get some cool benefits like 35 Bearfare and 600 dollars compensation per semester. If you have any questions about a certain position, you can click here for position descriptions or you can come by during their office hours to talk to them about their position. Ice Skate Night
On Thursday, February 25, RHA and SAC will be hosting an Ice Skate Night at Mediacom Ice Park from 9:30-11:30 PM. Ice Skate Night is free to all Missouri State students to attend! All you have to bring is your Zip Card to make sure that you get in. If you need a ride to Mediacom Ice Park, a shuttle will be provided. Starting at 9:10 PM, the shuttle will pick up people at the Blair-Shannon Circle Drive to go to Mediacom Ice Park. So, go and have fun!

Hallaplooza Results
Hallaplooza 2010 has come and gone and although there was a good contest between all the residence halls, there had to be one winner. The top three residence halls were:

Chinese New Year
Wednesday, February 10th from 6:30-8:30 PM in the Blair-Shannon Grand Lounge, RHA will be celebrating Chinese New Year! Those who attend will get to experience a actual Lion Dance, a huge New Year tradition. There will also be traditional Chinese food and games there. So, come out and celebrate the New Year!
Hallaplooza
Friday, February 4 and Saturday, February 5 will be the games to count for Hallaplooza. Hallaplooza is a competition to see which residence hall can have the highest attendance at both games. The Friday game will feature the Lady Bears as they take on Creighton at 7:35. This is also the White-out game that will be broadcast on FSN, so we need a high attendance of people wearing white to be seen on national television. The Saturday night game will start at 7:05 as they also take on Creighton. Both games will feature a drawing for an autographed basketball from both the Bears and Lady Bears. So come out and support our bears and help your residence hall win Hallaplooza!

Button Wars
February 2nd at 8:00 AM is the official start to Button Wars. For those who haven't already done so, join the Facebook group by clicking here. There, you can see who is still playing and who is out along with a full set of rules. The basic thing is you have to wear your RHA button at all times and you won't get out. If you don't wear it and you get caught, you are out! Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers along with the person who eliminates the most people. Good luck to everyone!

Spring Pop Tabs War
RHA will be having another pop tabs war starting Monday, January 25th. The pop tabs collected will go to the Ronald McDonald House. Students will bring their pop tabs to the house located at the front desk of every residence hall. The winning building will get $150 towards a pizza party. So, get to saving those pop tabs for a good cause! Missouri State collected 125 pounds this past fall, so let's keep it up!
